I've had a c-section about 7 months ago and my scar looks hidious. It's bludgy looking and rasied. And you can see the line where i had the surgery through my swim suit. Does anyone know if there is some sort or ointment or something that I can put on to dimissed that rasied look of the scar? Or maybe even flatten it out?
And I was wondering.. could it be because I had staples that made the scar that way? Sometimes it just makes me wonder what went wrong. Some people described their scar as a "hair line" and the scar looks like it was drawn with a thin marker. Mines does not looking anything like "hair line". Does anyone else scar look hidious. Sometimes I just wonder if my healing process didn't go as well as it was supposed to. Because I after they took the staples off the dr put some strips on it and the dr said it would fall of within one week. So the next week i went in to have it checked it, the nurse told me to go ahead and peel them off in the shower so i did. I don't really know what I did wrong or what happened why my scar did not look like a "hair line scar". *sighs* And the dr had the nerve to tell me "You won't even see a scar".

Mine looks the way you describe, but I think it's because my incision never closed. Mine was open for 7 weeks post partum after this last c-section. After my first c-section, I did have the little flat hairline scar. Now I have consulted with a plastic surgeon.

I don't know what to make of the bumps and raised appearance. I've had three c-sections. With my first it was like that for a couple months and went back to normal, but a red-looking scar remained. Then, after my second was born, I had all of that and it never went away in the next 17 months... until I had my third c-section and that one healed pretty quickly- no bumps and (honestly!) only the slighest, barely visible white line of a scar. So, I don't know what the difference was?? I had a different doc for my firstborn, but the same doc for #'s 2 and 3.

Don't know why your scar turned out that way. But my friend had the same experience and was going to have a plastic surgeon take care of it since it was so bad. I have had moles removed on my arm and they turned into a raised white bump. My dermatoligist said she could take care of them and make them flat. I wonder if the same could be done for your scar? Good luck.

I got a prenatal ma__sage 3 weeks ago. We were talking about c-sections and I told her mine was a bit raised and she told me after your c-section (when it does not hurt anymore) start ma__saging the scar to break up the scar tissue.

mine looks even worst then yours. My incision came open open the night I left the hospital. I had to be packed, stapled, st_tched before it healed in 9 months time. I am also consulting a plastic sureon.
