Hi, I'm pregnant with my first baby and am wanting to know if anyone knows of a doctor in the Houston, TX area that will do this electively? I'm 36 and am terrified of va___al delivery due to my age and possible heart problems. I've also heard more horror stories as opposed to happy stories about va___al delieveries. I don't want to start a debate, just want info on a doctor and to hear from anyone else wanting to do this.

If you have heart problems your doctor may decide to do an elective. Whoever is telling you all those "horror stories" probably has more than one child so what does that tell you? Don't induce, walk around during your labor rather than lay flat on your back working against gravity, and if there needs to be more room for delivery, have a controlled tear (this is different than regular tissue tearing as pregnancy hormones are involved) instead of an episiotomy as a tear is easier to repair and nature does it all the time. A c-section will guarantee you damage and pain, why would you a__sume you will have a bad experience just because others may have emellished their stories as some sort of one-upmanship? Yes, women have bad tears down there, and yes women have bad c-sections, so why count yourself in either group? You may be in a happy majority where it is hard work, but everyone is fine at the end of the day. Good luck
