Hello There,
I have opted for an elective ceserean due to the problems I experienced in my pregnancy, but also because I am struggling through this one also. What I would like to find out is, how many people are allowed in the operating Thank you in advance!

My hospital (and I think most have this policy) allows one person to be in there with you. I had to be put under general anesthesia with my 3rd child and noone was allowed in with me for that one- not even dh. Good luck with your baby!

Yeah, I forgot about that.... like Hannahbaby said, usually they keep dh out when they do the spinal. I had a epidural in labor with my first and was under general anesthesia with my third. I only had a spinal with my 2nd and forgot all about that!

can I ask why some of you had a general anesthesia with your 3rd? I'm having my 3rd one this friday, is it something I should be concerened about because I want my dh in there with me.

I had general anesthesia with my third because I had very low platelets (they found it when they did my CBC before surgery). It's not safe to have a spinal with platelets that low, so I had to be put under general anesthesia. I wouldn't worry... it wasn't just a 3rd baby thing... I really should have been under it with my 1st because I had the same thing, but that's another story LOL.
