How Long For Healing

I had my ds by an unplanned c-section after 30+ hours of labour and the baby's hb started to fluctuate wildly. It's been 2 1/2 months since, and my lower abdomen still feels tender and slightly numb. How long will this take to go back to normal, or will it ever go back to normal? Other than that, the incision is completely healed and barely even visible. Is there anything I can do to help things along?

I had a similar story with my first son. Not only do you have to recover from the c-seciton, but you also have to recover from the 30+ hours of labor before that! Especially if you did some pushing, your poor uterus and abdominal muscles must be shot. Mine sure were. The feeling of slight numbness might never go away. I never got feeling back along one narrow line all the way across the scar. The tenderness will go away, but it will take a while. Don't forget that there are TWO incisions that need to heal. The outer one heals more quickly in my experience (2 c-sections). The internal scar may have disolvable st_tches that need to go away before the tenderness will end.

Mama2boys, thanks. At the 6 week post-partum check the doc said everything was great. But, I was beginning to doubt that. Having never had major surgery before, this is all new to me. As long as I know I'm normal, I'm okay with a little numbness along the incision. Thanks for putting my mind at ease.
