Incision Still Open One Month Later

Hi Ladies, My incision still hasn't closed after a month. How long did it take for yours to heal?

Mine took 7 weeks. It was complications due to the way the managed the scar tissue from my first C. In other threads on this forum, I posted a lot of info on how to manage this. You probably want to go talk to a wound care specialist because most OB's unfortunately don't know jack about wound care. What mine told me to do acutally prolonged the healing process.

Hi Loved...Your incision should be long healed shut. With all 3 of mine, at the 3 day mark I had my staples out and there was never an opening. Have you been back to your drs? There could be infection and it may need to be resealed properly. That is too bad this has happened. You know where to find me on the other board if you have any other questions.xox

Yes, you absolutely need professional help to get this thing to close. Like I said, if I did not seek out a wound care specialist and only followed the advice of my OB, my abdomen would probably still be gaping open and my son is 17 months old! If your incision popped open into your abdominal cavity, you will need to be packing it with gauze daily. If this is the case, call the doc ASAP because you are at serious risk for infection. Mine only opened down into the fatty layer, so I was able to manage it with special wound dressings called Allevyn. Keep us posted. This is such a c___ppy situation to have to go thru, so know you have our support!
