It's been almost 4 weeks and I h ave no pain but am a little itchy. I noticed before taking my bath tonight that my incision has become bright red and it was very damp. I thought sweat at first but it smells. Sorry if TMI but kind of smells like when you get a yeast infection down below. Gross! Anyone had this? Seems kind of late to be getting an infection now. And like I said, no pain but a little itchy.

Boy,bet that sucks.have you ever heard of calling your doctor and asking them.maybe you take to many baths/not enough baths.maybe an alergic reaction to something.

my incision is also red, i noticed this right before i was going to take my shower yesterday. Is the bad smell coming from your incision or down below? I noticed a smell down there but not on my incision.

Bonnie, I had the same thing. I'm full-figured and it was really hard to keep the incision dry. It got a raised, red and smelly patch. My doctor said to put hydrocortisone cream on it, to wash it several times a day (diaper wipes work pretty good for that) and to keep it as dry as possible. It cleared up after 2 days of treating it with hydrocortisone, and holding my tummy out of the way to let the incision dry. I know someone else who had the same symptoms, but hers was infected. So either call your doctor, or try the stuff I did for a couple of days. If it doesn't get better, call your doctor.

Thanks. Bridget I have not called the doctor yet as it is the weekend. :P JBear, I am full figured as well, and where my incision is...I have a "puch" still, lol so it's basically under the skin and not exposed to air and I was thinking the same thing. Like I said, it doesn;t hurt, but it's red and definately smells (yuck). The smell is definately coming from that. I willget some of that cream and try it. But I'm not sure how I can keep it dry without walking around all day holding up my tummy, lmao!

I folded a maxipad and kept it against the incision. It was summertime and I was sweating buckets, which didn't really help.

I had the same thing . Mine had a rash and I had a yeast infection in mine. Got some Rx cream and it cleared up. I am full figured women also, so just keep the area as dry as possible.

I had my c-section about 4 weeks and i had a smell too about 2 weeks ago, my ob/gyn told me to b__w dry the cut after every shower and to keep a pad on. It helped me with the smell. she also told be to put baby powder (the cornstarch kind) on the scar, but mine was too tender for that.
