Is The Recovery Different Rougher From A Vertical Incision

Possibly having vert cut - August 25

If you've had to have a vertical / classical incision during your c-sec, what was the recovery like?

My recovery was very good. Why do you have to have a vertical. I would avoid it if possible....after having one you will be at higher risks for future pregnancies and also will always have to have a c-section. Mine was in Feb due to bleeding from placenta previa and premature baby. Sidney was born at 28 weeks and died at 10 days old from an infection. Nothing to do with the fact that it was vertial though. Just struggling now trying to decide if/when it is safe to try again.

it was hard. my stomach reopend after 2wks and i was in constant pain. i just wish i knew why i had to have a verticle. but that was almost 5 yrs ago and i have a beautiful son out of it and a daughter on the way.

i was cut verticaly because of my veins on my uterus and my baby was really big...and i've tried to ask about it as far as me having another cild one day and if it will rip open. They told me there was a chance of that happening but i wanted to hear peoples expierences beacuse i want more children. I recovered really well. I was up walking the same day as my c-section. It took me about 6 days to fully heal though. Theres just always that chance though of it reopening with another pregnancy.

I had a c-section a little over 4 years ago. It was done vertically, I had about 35-40 staples in my stomach. It took me about 4 weeks for it to close completely. My doctor took half the staples out 2 weeks after I had my daughter, and a week after that I had the other half taken out. It was still open from the top so they had to put surgical tape to hold it closed. I had a really, really bad recovery. But I have a beautiful and very smart daughter to show for it. I also just found out that I am expecting, hopefully everything goes alright. I was never told exactly why I HAD to be cut vertically.

I also had a cla__sic section, mine was an inverted t. I healed quite fast from it but now I also wonder how safe it is to have another baby. I was advised not to, but told from other doctors to go ahead because this was the first c section for me.
