Hi y'all. When I had my last section 3 years ago. During surgery my dr inserted a little plastic like tube. It stuck out of my incision and drained into a little bag that was taped on me. It stayed there for 3 days and filled with clear liquid from inside me. They told me it helped prevent problems. Also, with my section before that one, during surgery my dr put almost like a cast material type of thing across my incision area and it kept my tummy from sitting on my incision (for those of us who are heavier). He took it off prior to taking my staples out on day 3. Anyhow, just food for thought for those going in to have theirs. I found them helpful and my incisions healed great and I never had any redness, Good luck!!
