Many Quetsions About C Section Bonding Nervous

Alverran, I was in surgery between 8:30 and 9:45 am. I didn't get feeling back in my legs until around 2:00 pm that day (the anesthesiologist hooked me up with some strong stuff). I was up and walking at 5:00 pm. The baby stayed in my room all night that same night and I kept getting up to feed him and change him. I also made sure to take the Ibuprofen I was offered and percocet. Yes, I still felt pain and I was very clear-headed. The nurses were amazed at how well I was moving, but I was determined to get moving as soon as possible because I knew it would help with recovery. I also wanted to be able to attend to and spend time with my baby, rather than send him to the nursery. I just suggest that you stay on top of the pain medication. I felt the pain, but I'm pretty sure it would have been more intense if I hadn't taken the pain medication on a timely basis. Best wishes!

Sorry, alverran, I've just noticed your question..For the first 24 hrs I wasn't even allowed to lift my head (because of the epidural). Straight after that though, the nurses helped me up and from then on I was able to walk on my own without any help..I also didn't need to take any pain med. for the scar...5 days later I was home, looking after the baby, cleaning up, doing all the usual chores...All I needed was to lie down once in a while, when it would get uncomfortable, but still no painkillers, so it's really not that bad at all...Best of luck to you!

Hi there, With my firsy baby I had preeclampsia quite badly and she was deleivered via c-section under full anestetic. When I awoke she had been flown off to a large childrens hospital. I didn't even get one single glance. She stayed there for 2 weeks and I with my preeclampsia had to stay in another town in my hospital. I NEVER saw her till she was 2 weeks old and they brought her back to me. We still bonded wonderfully and I feel are bonded well still today. It was very hard on me for sure but my husband stepped up to the plate and was down there all the time with her, and when he came up to see me in hospital the angel nurses from this childrens hospital took over, they were a blessing from God I feel. With my second, I was awake for my section but because of the preeclampsia again, I spent time with her in the OR then although she was perfectly healthy, I was not and they placed me in ICU and her in the Nursery. my husband once again spent time with her. I was apart from her for 12 hours until i stabilized. Once again, bonded perfectly, no problem. then with my third I was awake for my section and had him from the time they lifted him out and so on and had no problem. So I feel that we all bonded the same but with different circ_mstances.
