I had a c-section 8 weeks ago. I don't have any pain but just above my scar on the left side is numb. I have my post pregnancy check up next week so I will ask them about it but if you are worried ask your doctor.

I had a c-section (emergency) and was numb for 6 months after the surgery. The scar is still sensitive (and my son is 21 months old). Your body will feel normal after about 12 months. What doctors never say is that it is MAJOR SURGERY. Everyone expects us to just bounce up and go shopping the following week. Remember also they pulled a 7 or so lb baby out of that hole. Some numbing may occur (ha!).

I was numb till about 9 months in spots after all 3 of my csections and I still am sensitive 18 months after having my daughter on my left side. A csection is cla__sified as Major Abdominal Surgery!

I've heard that the numbness thing can last forever. Just to let you know, not trying to scare you...keep on your doctor if one part of your section starts REALLY hurting or becomes very tender. You could be getting an infection like I am going through, 5 months PP. Probably not why yours hurts, probably just normal. Just a word of warning so hopefully you won't have to go through anything like that!

No ma'am its not... I had a c-section on June 26 and i'm still numb... and i can't stand to have anything [pants, panties, etc.] rubbing against my scar. You wont ever have full feeling back in your abdomen.... you'll always have a numb patch! about the pains.. i dunno, i never have pains, except sometimes when i move the wrong way it feels like my scar will rip open.. i dont know, maybe talk to your doctor

babygirl15 i to am numb on my right side on my stomach and on parts of my scar, i am lucky i have a VERY slim, short, and well faded scar. I've been told it might never go away, it doesn't bother me to much any more (my daughter is almost 5months) but what does still bug me is the itching i get under the scar where you can't get to...does anyone else get this, do you have any ideas on how to make it stop?

The best thing I've heard for C-Section scars is rubbing Vitamin E cream into it. If you want to try buying the capsules of vitamin E, the vitamins with the liquid inside, punch a whole in and rub the vitamin E on. I had a section almost 4 years ago and the bottom half of my stomach is fairly numb. I don't think your body ever feels the same after having been pregnant, inside and out it changes you, even if you didn't have a section.

Mine is 6 mos old.
I am still numb.
I had knee surgery 2 weeks ago, so I've been using my stomach muscles more than normal ( getting out of bed, off the floor) and I can still feel the abnormality in my muscles. I think it takes about a year to fully recover from major abdominal surgery.
I wish I had waited longer to have my knee surgery. I think 2 surgeries this close together, was very hard on my body. I feel old and worn out.
I'm only 34.

I don't have any numb spots left around my c-section incision, but last year I fell and messed up my knee. It must have done some nerve damage, because there's a spot way under my knee that is numb, BUT when I touch that spot I feel it over to the right of my knee (on the side of my leg)... where I'm not even touching. Cutting into nerves or damaging them does some strange things!
