Hi ladies-I was just curious. I just had a csection 4 weeks ago and I have numbness along the incisional site. Has anyone else had this problem? And will the feeling return??

Hey Eclectic, I had a c-section 5yrs ago and I so remember numbness along the incisional site. I thought it was so weird but I remember it being like that for a long while. It also felt weird to touch. Well I hate to tell ya but it's probley going to feel numb for awhile but Im sure your precious little baby is all worth it. Good luck to you!

The feeling came back a few months after my first and second c-sections, but not after the third (and my 3rd c-section was over 2 years ago!). I can pinch the skin and not feel anything at all, but it doesn't bother me. I have a numb patch where I messed up my knee, too. I look at it like, better numb than to feel pain lol ;-)

I'm 10 months post c-section and my incision line is still numb. I don't notice it unless i go poking at it. Probably just a normal side effect from being cut. I will say that it's less numb now then a few months ago, so maybe the feeling will come back eventually. In any case I don't really notice it anymore.

I was going to ask the same thing. Then I went to my 6wk check up and my Dr. said it's totally normal. But, is it normal to still feel some uncomfortableness in the area above it? It's a little sensitive to touch, like I can't put a belt around comfortable yet (9wks pp). And also, I sneezed the other day and it felt weird inside my belly. Is that normal?

My daughter is 3 years old and mine is still semi-numb about an inch above the incision. I can feel everything just fine below it. It used to be completely numb, but not if I drag my nail across it, I can feel some in certain places, and none in others. My OB said it's nerve damage and is very common. You might get some feeling back, but possibly not all.

The numbness is because the nerves in that area are dead or damaged. I'm having a 2nd c-section in 2 weeks and my Dr. is going in through the same incision--she said most likely recovery will be less painful because of the already dead nerves.

I had a c section 7 months ago and I am still numb. I was concerned at first because I didnt realize this could happen. The doc said it last for about 6 months....
