I had a c-section 10 days ago and I was wondering is it normal to have a little bit of pain when I go pee?

I also have pain upon urination. I felt this pain soon after they removed the urinary catheter in the hospital. I mentioned the pain to my doctor who pa__sed it off as normal pain due to the manipulation of abdominal muscles during the c-section but it's been three weeks and I'm still feeling the pain when I pee. I went to my one week postpartum appointment and they tested my urine and they found that I had a UTI. They put me on antibiotics but my symptoms have not improved. I went to the doctor AGAIN and they tested my urine again but they have not received the results. Have you mentioned this pain to your doctor? If so, what does he/she say? Hope it goes away soon. I have also experienced some pain when I have a bowel movement. It's an overall ache. Hopefully this is all normal. I'd hate to think that I'm one of the few that experienced the complications of a c-section. Let me know if you have any more news about this pain...

I too have had pain when I urinate after my c-section dec 1st 2004 it is now feb 21st. I have mentioned it to my doctor they tested my urine said it was fine and have never explained why it is happening or tested further. I to would like to know if this is a common problem or something bigger. I am fixing to try another doctor if this keeps going. I have been dripping blood every since I left the hospital too. I think there is definitly a problem.

It hurt like hell to pee after my 2 c sections. Good news, it goes away eventually. I noticed that getting up and walking more helped with the pain. As the pain didnt last as long w my 2nd ( i was chasing a 17mo old).

I had a c-section less than 2 weeks ago and still feel a little pain when I go to urinate. I know this may seem strange but drink plenty of water. My doctor suggested this to me and incrediably the pain got better. So remember, drink 10 gla__ses of water a day. Hope this helps!

Yes. It's normal. My OB told me to do kegel exercises for it. When you feel like you have to pee, try to hold it in for a little bit, then go. Once your incision heals, it won't be painful to pee any more.

It is not normal. When I was hospitized, the doctors and nurses told me to report such discomfort. You are not suppost to hurt while using the bathroom. Tell your doctor. I felt no pain.
