Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem as me. I had my first child by cesection Aug 2000 and my second by csection March 2005, BOTH were conceived without a problem. Got pregnant with second child two months after going off of the pill. Now I have been ttc #3 since Nov 05 and nothing yet. Have taken clomid two separate months and still not pregnant. Anyone else have this problem? Was on birth control patch before trying to conceive this time. Any info or experiences you want to share would be great!! Thanks!

I don't know if the C section has anything to do with it but my dh and I have been trying unsuccessfully for about a year. My section was quite a while ago, my ds is 4 now! I hope it works out for both of us!!

Like Frances said, I don't know if the c-section has anything to do with your not being able to conceive baby #3. There are women out there who have had four and five c-sections so obviously the c-section did not prevent them from conceiving but I know that every woman's body is different. Going on and off the pill certainly doesn't help either. That is artificial and doing so only confuses/interrupts your body's natural function. Also, give your body time to heal. You started trying to conceive baby #3 only 8 months after having baby #2. Get off the clomid and try doing it naturally. And see what happens. Good luck!!!

It didn't make it any harder for me...I had a depo shot in the hospital after my first c-section. It really messed me up for a while, and I can't take the pill, so after that we started using condoms. That worked really well for us. There was one night that we were so drunk we skipped the condoms...and that one night was enough for baby #2 to get started. We tried for four years to have our first baby, so it was really quite surprising to get pregnant from one "oops".

While many women do not have secondary fertility problems post cesarean section it is ABSOLUTELY a recognized "complication" of CS. It has to do with internal uterine scarring and implantation issues. It is not an uncommon problem a__sociated with prior cesarean section and is actually supposed to be discussed with the patients. Good luck to you.

Thank you for all of the information. I really appreciate it. Do you think I should see a specialist or wait a few more cycles?
