I'm a little nervous about the recovery time for my 3rd c-section. I'm a little older and it's been 5 yrs. since my last c/s. Can anyone share their experiences?

Hi Lori, I am 12 wks pregnant with my third. Both my boys were also c - sections... aged nearly 5 and nearly 3. I recovered quite quickly with both of them.. but I am a bit nervous about the third... with the risks of adhesions etc.... getting a nice surgeon... the list goes on. Too late to go back now :) we will just have to ride it out and hope for the best! I am sure it will all be fine though.

I just had my 4th c-section. My oldest child is 10, 2nd is 6 and the 3rd is 41/2. My 3rd one was pretty easy as was the 4th. The dr. was able to cut on the same incision and so I felt very little to no real pain at all. My biggest problem was, due to the lack of pain I had a tendency to overdo it and then I got very bad shakes which I was told was my bodies way of saing slow down. Without the pain you really don't know when enough is enough. With my 4th one I kept that in mind and it has been 3 weeks today and I am doing great.

Hey I got the shakes too! Yeah those pain-killers are great, but sometimes just too great, huh? I thought I could shop for baby clothes w/ my husband 4 days after surgery cuz I felt fine, but then I got hot and sweaty after half-way in the store and started shaking like crazy, felt dizzy and had to lean against all the aisles and use them as crutches!!! But w/o the pain killers..my favorite, 8 hour Motrin, I don't think I would have moved at all..I think I'm such a wimp!
