Well here is my story, im 20yrs old and before i was prego i weighed around 98 pounds.. Im 4 feet 11 inches tall too.. im now 27 weeks pregnant and i weigh about 110... My doc has told me since i went to my very first appointment with her that a Cesarean is a very big possibility, she asked how big my B/F was and i told her he is 6 1' so quite larger then I... My aunti and many different people have told me that im probably going to be a C-section... so im pretty conviced now even though its not set in stone yet... But im terrified!!! I really wanted to give birth naturally and normally... pushing and breathing and all that...not by surgery :( But i know that its whatever is best for my little girl, OF course... But i was wondering if anyone can ease my mind just a little and maybe giv eme some information that is on the more positive side...THanks and good luck to everyone... - Jas

Jasmine- My very good friend from college was five foot seven and weighed 100 lbs.- very thin!! Her BF was tall (maybe 6 feet, not exactly sure). Anyway, she delivered her 7 lb. 5 oz. baby boy v____ally (and actually pretty quickly- 5 hours). And another friend of mine was 5 feet even and thin and had her 10 lb. baby v____ally. So, I'd say give it a try... see how it goes... they can always do a c-section if things get complicated, but maybe you won't even need one. Good luck:)

Well, there are plus and minus' to a v____al birth or a c section. Some people prefer a c sec. I've had 2, and have nothing to compare it to.
But I would wonder why your Dr thinks you may have a c? Maybe she can induce you before the baby gets too big?
Is that an option?
I'd say try to have the baby v____ally if possible. But even if you have a C, its all worth it, once you hold your baby?

I am 35 and had my first child 3 months ago by scheduled c-section. It was a very good experience. It was a little scary but it is over really fast and I had very little pain. Don't worry if you need a c-section. My only advice would be to take the pain meds exactly as they are given by your doctor.

I have a small pelvis and was told at my first visit that a v____al birth was unlikely for me. I finally made the decision to go ahead with a planned c-section. I would suggest you read and have a birth plan, what you do not want is to later have any regrets regarding the birth of your little gir. If you and your health care provider talk about and plan things together, you can be very much a part of the birth of your child. You can choose mirrors to see your child being born, you can choose to have someone in attendance, and you can even choose what music to have piped in. Remember being pregnant and giving birth are not a disease but in fact a natural and beautiful process, if medical intervention is necessary for a safe delivery so be it, but do not let it rob you of the beauty and overwhelming warmth and dignity that go along with child birth. Basically, plan, be a part of your birth and enjoy. Your birth experience will stay with you for the rest of your life.

I completely agree with StephH. Especially since you are in a situation where you don't know what type of delivery you will have - you may have to go either way. The thing I would stress is that if you do end up having a C-section, ask your doctor about some of the meds that they use that can affect memory. I was given some meds that made me forget much of what happened in the OR. It depresses me to this day because I can't remember much of the birth of my daugher, not even her first cry. It's especially important if you try to go v____ally and it doesn't work because you'll be exhausted for the C-section and it will be that much harder to control what kind of care you want to receive. Just my 2 cents.

dont worry the whole operation is fine you will feel absolutely nothing. if you have a planned one you can be awake with an epidural/spinal and it will be all controlled not scary at all im the biggest woos and i had to have an emergancy but i was awake because i already had an epidural in place. i was fine. make sure afterwards you take the pain relife and youl be fine.

My unplanned cesarean was great. Well, not that I LIKED it, but it was fast, and my recovery was pretty easy. There is nothing to be scared of. I was more scared of pushing and all that. I was actually kind of relieved when he said that they were gonna "go in and get her"
