Anyone have a spinal block ? this is my second baby ,first one was an emergency c-section so i had a epidural in place but now i am tolg i'll have a spinal block . I read that they can give you one of the worst headaches of your life .. scared about the whole thing. any one had one and have any advice...?/

I had a spinal block with my first c-section and I got the headache. It is the worst headache imaginable. You can tell a spinal headache from a migraine because it goes away instantly when you lie on your back, then comes back when you sit up. My mom had a spinal headache from an epidural, though. Anyhow, there's a procedure to fix the spinal headache called a blood patch. They draw blood from your arm and inject it into your spine. If you get the headache, tell the nurses right away and you'll be able to have the blood patch. It cures the headache instantly.

I had two c-sections with two spinals, and no headaches. So don't panic... not everyone gets a spinal headache! And like Jbear said, it can happen with an epidural too, and there are quick fixes if it does occur.

true true, i have had many epidurals 6 to be exact and one spinal, got headaches with epidural not with the spinal, i havea section coming in march, but i am not too worried, your in a hospital, there are fixes, cures and drugs for things like a horrid headache, just speak up immediately and say what you need.
