I have a lot of swelling in my legs that only gets worse the more I'm up and around. Is there something my OB can give me to make this go away quicker - it hurts it's so bad!!!!
Thanks

Elevate your legs, rest is the key.
my legs did not go down until I actually gosome rest and that is hard for me seeing my baby is still in the hospital. Just elevate your legs as much as possible.

i agree with beverly. rest as much as you can. if there is anyone there to help you, elevate your legs and relax. only move around when you must. be sure to walk though. you do not want any leg cramps from sitting so long. also ask your obgyn for some pain medicine.

I had the same problem. I just had my baby on 12/15/04. And both my feet and legs were swollen for about 1 week after I had my baby. I had no swelling during my nine months. So the swelling you are experiencing is normal. I suggest the old remedy: elevate your feet and stay off them. That's what my OB told me to do and it worked. I know it hurts, I was in pain last week and could not put shoes on.
Hang in there! :)

I had ma__sive swelling for 2 weeks after baby was born. It has gone down now, but I still cannot wear my shoes or rings. With sections, everything takes twice as long to go back to normal. Just rest up when feeding. That way, you rest every three/four hours and your feet get a break. Remember they are still carrying extra weight and gravity sends evrything downwards.

I have a friend post C-section suffering from swollen legs (fine pre-birth) and she finds putting fresh cold cabbage leaves on her legs helps to reduce the swelling. She says this also helps swollen milk ducts.
