I had a c-section 2 1/2 weeks ago, and it went great. I needed it because DD was breach. I only took the pain meds for three days, I felt great! I stopped bleeding a week after. Well, two days ago I started bleeding again out of the blue. Could this be a period? I am br___tfeeding, so I didn't think it would start this quickly. Maybe the bleeding from the delivery just started back up again... who knows. Since I had a c-section, why can't I use tampons?

Ok, firstly regarding the bleeding, it is almost certainly still from the birth. You can start and stop for up to 8 weeks, depending on your level of activity, it can make it start and stop. It is too soon for a period, especially if you are b___stfeeding. Regarding the tampons, I had the same question a couple of months ago when I had my c-sec. I was told not to use them for 6 weeks - you can't use them not because you had a v____al birth (as I thought too), but because the cervix is not completely closed and it could cause an infection in your womb, which is the last thing you want. It is kind of the same reason why they say no s_x for 6 weeks. I know sanitary pads suck, but hang in there!

With my 2nd I had off and on bleeding as well and sometimes a heavy flow of brown blood, I wouldnt bleed for 3-4 days and than all of a sudden here it comes again! About tampons I also heard they can cause infection and bad irritation. i hate pads but hey you have no choice in the matter.
