Terrified From Another C Section

Hello, I need some advice, I had a terrible experience with my first c-section, I first had to go through 6 hours of labor before my Dr finally said that the head was too big and I had to undergo the surgery, beside all the pain that I had earlier, the Anesthesia made my vomit most of the time while I have been operated on and my recovery time was more than 6 weeks, now I'm preganant again, and since I had to stay in bed rest for the first trimester for spotting problems I gained a lot of weight that maybe another reason for me to go for another c-section, so my question is do I have to have another c-section just for those previous 2 reasons?

Not necessarily! It depends on the size of this baby, why the other baby didn't move properly though the birth ca___l, etc. There are many reasons c-sections are done that do not repeat themselves in the next birth so communicate your concern with your doctor and if necessary, get a second opinion. If you have an adequate pelvis and cervix, there should be no reason why you have to go through that again unless you had a cla__sical incision (up and down).

Thank you djh for your reply, it made me feel better and clarify the questions that I should prepare to ask my Dr on my next visit, I am happy I was able to join this group and share my thoughts and concerns:)

I had another question for you all? Do you think that 7 years difference between pregnancies is long enough to be able to have a v____al delivery without having my scares to rapture?

I would think that would be plenty of time. Keep in mind there is a .5-1% chance of uterine rupture with VBAC...but, with pitocin there is at least that chance for v____al births without prior c-sections too. My advice, which does not take the place of an MD, is to go with naturally occurring labor and stay away from the pitocin. But your doctor is the best one to decide from your chart notes whether you are a good candidate for VBAC or not. I understand why you don't want another c-section. I also did not have good experiences and wished I could deliver v____ally. BUT, if it ends up that way for a healthy baby then our second choice is still okay, right?

Yes i think you are right! definitley, I would take all my concerns, questions and options to my Dr on my next visit and I will let you know what she thinks, so why did you have a bad experience?
