I had a c-section about 10 months ago. The incision opened up and had to be re-stiched. I was on bed rest for a while and it took me forever to heal from it and I recently stopped having pain there!! I got a positive pregnancy test and have no idea how pregnant I am due to that i was br___tfeeding so didn't get regular periods. Does anyone know if I would be able to have a vbac? I'm petrified of another c-section.. thanx

Yes, you should be able to have a VBAC. I am a member of a group at Cafemom dot com, t_tled VBAC moms and there is SOOOO MUCH information provided by the ladies in that group. There are some women on there who have had a successful VBAC 14 months after the delivery of their c-section baby. Most docs recommend 18 months between deliveries, so you should definitely be good. Stop by that site if you get a chance. Is your doc willing to do a VBAC? I know finding one can be kind of tricky. I'm not preggos yet, but I have found a doc who will "do" VBACs. They are actually a lot safer than they are made out to be, far safer than a repeat c-section. A lot of docs also look at the reason for your initial c-section. Keep in mind that every pregnancy is different, and if your reason was FTP because your labor was induced, you still have a good shot at a successful VBAC. I think the success rate is something around 80%. Good luck with gathering info.

Try to find a doctor who has experience with this. When I had my baby the doctor told me that I will always have to have c-sections from now on. I have no idea why, but I plan on trying. GOOD LUCK!

YES, consult a midwife, and ask your Dr if they did a vertical cut on your uterus, if they did you have to do a c/s, if its a bikini on uterus, go for the vbac, and get a midwife along with dr- good luck

PregnantJackie! How are you doing? As far as your doc telling you you'd always have to have c-sections, it's because AVH has a NO VBAC policy for all of their doctors who practice there. Hope all is well with you. I lost all of my baby weight!
