So when did ya ladies start to do housework? When did ya begin to excercise? Also when did ya have your first period? I had my baby on june 23 and stopped bleeding like three weeks after that, I have not bled since and I can't start my birth control. My hubby is really wanting to have s_x, but I'm scared to soley use the condom only.

I almost tore myself open from doing too much too soon, walking up and down stairs and scrubbing the floors etc, so be careful! And I tried s_x about 5 weeks after my c-section and thought that that must be what it felt like to have a baby vg because it hurt like crazy, but some of my friends were fine after 4 weeks. But its not a bad idea to do little things increasingly and then at 6 weeks (with dr approval) you can do just about anything again. It really sucked for me because our house has stairs and the dr limited me to going up and down 1 time a day... basically sleep and shower and thats it...

Well, I tried to limit the housework and such as much as possible with my oldest, but we moved when I was 2 weeks postpartum, went to a wedding 4 hours away at 4 weeks pp and went to MN (from PA.) by car for my grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary, stayed 5 days and drove back.... so I did WAY too much! By the time I had #s 2 and 3, forget it! lol... I was so bad at following the instructions. It's just not possible when you have to lift toddlers and go upstairs with them throughout the day, etc. *sigh*. As for exercise... I was out taking walks about a week later with my boys (born in July), but not with my daughter (in January... too cold!). I didn't do anything more strenuous than that for about 6-8 weeks, though, it hurt too much! As for periods... I was b___stfeeding (that sometimes makes a difference)... and my period came back at 4 months with my oldest son. After my 2nd (dd) was born I didn't get a period back, but got pregnant when she was 8 months old. After my youngest son was born it came back after 10 months. You just never know!

I had no pain and did everything by the second week, including gentle intimacy with my hubby.

By 2 weeks I was feeling pretty good, but it all depends on you and how you feel. Listen to your body. Although it didn't take me long to feel better, I still waited 2 more weeks to make sure my body was ready for housework and exercise. My boyfriend and I were both anxious to be intimate, but it wasn't until 6 weeks postpartum that we tried intercourse, and it was stil at that point a little painful. So, just take it slow.... it will happen but just let things happen on their own and don't force anything on yourself.
