At Hospital Made To Have Csection Not An Emergancy

I just had my baby a couple weeks ago. I am so mad. While at the hospital after 4 hours labor my doctor told me that they needed to do a csection. I was unsure, but told it was nessasary. Well afterwords two nurses both confided in me that the doctor actually had to leave and couldnt apparently stay for my labor so decided to give me an unnessasary csection. It was horrible. I now have an infection and am in a lot of pain. Anyone else have a similar situation. I am so upset. Baby is fine though.. thank you, Tana

You have a lawsuit for a__sault and battery in the United States. Get copies of your medical records, if they try to charge you say you demand to see them. They will tell you that you need to make an appt. so they can "help" you understand the terms, tell them fine, and look at the "primary indications" for the c-section. Get a lawyer if necessary, not even to sue, but the prevent this from happening again to you or anyone else.

Im so sorry to hear your story. I certainly hope that no else would ever have to go through that.

Everyone is sue crazy. You should thank the doctor your baby is okay and stop whining, many women push for hours and you got the easy way out. grow up.

Jenna I agree with you...people want to "sue"over the slightest thing these days.People told me its the "Americans"fault they started it,I said we did not have to follow...absolutely that Tana,I know its hard but try to look on the bright side, the pain will diminish, and you have a lovely baby, both of you are ok.Just think you will recover, try and stay positive.I am sure the doctor was doing what he thought right.

How dare the last two posters say she had the easy way out? My sister had the easy way out, a 12 hour labor, with minimal tearing. Jenna, did you actually read her post...if you did your response was moronic. The nurses said he performed UNNECESSARY surgery on her for his conveinence AND she is suffering from an infection with considerable pain, no doubt any poor v____al mom had it rougher. To Marcie, you are getting really "old"...we all know how much you push c-sections, but you didn't have it pulled over on you when you were TRUSTING your doctor. And if you are not an American so what...blame another thing on the Americans, such a popular thing to do as well. If you hadn't thrown your little tantrum to get your c-section you would have been furious. Why can't Tana be furious for her situation which was NOT of her choosing at all? Easy way out my arse!

I guess Marcie and Jenna, besides being incredibly insensitive people, don't think its a bad thing when a doctor lies to a patient for his own end. Tana, don't listen to them, VERRRYYYYYY pro c-sections those two (based on other threads). Yes, your baby is healthy, NO you are not, guess that doesn't qualify you as having a hard time and worthy of their sympathy. Well you have mine. I am sorry someone operated on you and put you at unecessary risk for complications including the one you have now. J and M can just p__s off.

That's nuts! I am American and not sue crazy but let me say I would be the first person to sue the hell out of the hospital and the doctor. Nobody should have a major operation if not necessary, especially just because the doctor did not have time to stay and wait for a natural birth. And you have an infection now. That's horrible and inexcusable. The pain may fade but you should not be in that pain to begin with. That doctor was selfish and put you in unnecessary danger. He should have his medical license pulled.

You probably do have a valid lawsuit in the US, and should contact an attorney. If nothing else, it might help prevent your situation from happening to someone else. To Jenna and Marcie, go to hell. Why can't the two of you ever seem to realize that NOT everyone likes or enjoys being cut open?

is it likely that... - February 13

the nurses who advised you that the c-section was for the doctor's convience would testify to that in a court of law?? Highly unlikely I would think. And really... would a judge entertain this issue? I don't think they would where I live (and I work with the legal system...) but in your area, they just might. Why not consult with a lawyer as others have suggested, and see what they say? As for the pain, and the infection, it sounds miserable! Especially since you have newborn to deal with now as well!! Good luck to you on this issue... take care of yourself, and please let us know how this turns out!

Im soo sorry to hear this happened to you. I agree that you need to see a lawyer.(and i hate lawyers) and sue happy people. But this doctor should not be practicing medicine. IF he was in such a hurry he couldnt stay around for a possibly uncomplicated delivery what would he do if he were in the middle of a long surgery and wanted to go. What would he rush through and mess up then. Also you should not have to be dealing with or payinf for care of an infection. And i have to dissagree with the last post. If you are in america lawyers and judges would eat this up (unfortunatly there are too many sue happy people and they seem to love to take it out on docs) But when its necessary the lawyers and judges are there. Even if its just to have this doctor's liscence revoked. Good luck
