first i wanted to ask when they normally schedule a section if your first baby was a week early does that make a differance in the time? and i had my first va___aly and the epidural was awful he had to stick me alot of times and it took about twenty mins to get it in the right spot and i could hear the needle sc__pping against my spine. due to a crooked spine i think.. but im not sure if a lot of the pain was cause from him doing it during contractions are not. so i dont know if it will hurt as bad this time has anyone else ever had this? and im scared of what it feels like when they are pulling the baby out im afraid i may panic so are the pulling feeling that bad?

Amanda- different doctors have different policies about when they will do a c-section. Mine used to do them 2 weeks ahead of the due date (my second baby was a scheduled c-section and it was done 10 days early), but by my third, they had had a baby born there 10 days ahead that had immature lungs, so they refused to do them more than 1 week early. But, since you went into labor with your first a week early, I'd definitely mention that. When they do scheduled c-sections, they DO want to get you before you go into labor. Anyway, if you are scheduled before you go into labor, when they do the spinal it'll probably be different because you won't be trying to stay still while battling contractions (I had an epidural with my first while having intense contractions- it was SO hard to stay still and hunch over and round my back properly). I don't know what all of the ramifications are to having a crooked spine- hopefully the spinal will go ok for you. As far as pulling the baby out... I felt a bit of pressure and tugging with #2, but it didn't hurt at all. Kind of felt slithery or something, but in a very numb sort of way. I felt NO cutting or sewing- not even the pressure of it. P.S.- I didn't really feel much with my first baby's c-section, because I was so exhausted from a HARD 24 hour labor and I was asleep with #3, so obviously didn't feel anything with him.

My dr did my last c-section at 39 wks.And i had a spinal and they had to stick me about 10 times before they could get it right. That was painful. You will feel some tugging and pulling but it is not painful because you will be numb.My first c-section i carried her almost 42 wks and they were going to induce labor but i finaly went into labor the night before and my baby was to big to fit through the birth ca___l so i ended up having a c-section and my 2nd one was a repeat c-section and this baby will be a repeat c-section as well. You will be okay.
