C Section Because Of Herpes

ok so im only 6 weeks pregnant but ive been curious about this for awhile. i have herpes, i have never had an outbreak that i know of and the only way i found out was because i took the antibody blood test and it came out positive. so since ive never had any of the symptoms i asked my gyno if its possible if i might be having internal outbreaks? she said no i would know if i had because it would be very painful.... i dont get it. but anyways ive had it for 4 years and my husbabnd has never gotton anything either(i tested twice because i thought this was too weird, but it did come back positive again) my doctor told me that i have a very weak strain of the virus and thats probably why i show no symptoms. so my question is do you think i can request a c-section anyways, even if i dont have an outbreak? me and my husband dont want to take any chances. i want to just ask for it off the bat as a precaution, can my doctor say no?

I think you are doing the right thing. Ask your Dr. and see what he reccommends. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

elective c-sections happen everyday i don't see why you cant have one too. i did because i had toximia was going to be induced 6 weeks early anyways and thought it would be better on her since she was already( i cant think of what they called it so i'll just call it) stressed.
