Gosh, you shouldn't have any openings whatsoever! I had a c-section and I was sewn up as opposed to staples and had no complications. But if you are having infections, the doctor needs to double check you.

I have had 2 c-sections and I have to say that my second c-section scar is less noticable than the first time and I was stapled both times.

i had a section 4 weeks ago and i got an infection 2 days afterhaving it done. they didnt find the infection till a week later. my wound was pouring red sticky gunge out compleatly soaking my clothes. i still have 3 holes in my stomach big enough to get a finger in. i have a nurse come every day to pack these holes with dressings to stop the skin closing before it heals on the inside.

When i got my staples removed, i walked down the hall to the elevator, and a great deal of fluid came out of me, i had to waddle back to get bandaged up, well after the small holes from the staples closed it all built up inside me creating an infection, and I tore having a hole the size of your pinky. well after being on meds and using an anti fungis cream on my incision, i was better before i knew it

I had my 3rd c on the 28th and I was stappled w/the 1st 2 and glued w/the 3rd. Now I have and infec. Dr just pushed on the scar and it popped open about 1in. now a RN comes out 1x a day and packs it pls my husband packs it at night. Dr said no antibiotics would help. The infec. is about 1in deep and almost the length of my scar. No one has said exactly how long it takes to heal, they just say a long time.

I had a c-section 8 weeks ago and I had a very small opening that just wasn't closing. On Friday they tried to burn it closed with silver nitrate and it has been 10x worse since then! It has been oozing blood ever since. It also felt like my whole incision had been ripped open! My ob didn't numb the incision before she checked the size of the opening and it hurt like hell! I go back today to see what they want to do and I'm going to tell her to numb it before she even looks at it!!! Anyone else had this happen???

I had a c section a little over two weeks ago. A few days after I was discharged from the hospital I got cellulitis and was put on antibiotics. A few days after that my incision started draining and opened up. I went to my doctor and she opened it up a little more to clean it. Now my husband packs it twice a day and I see my doctor about once or twice a week for her to look at it. The antibiotics took care of my cellulitis, now im hoping this just heals and no more infections. Its nice to hear other peoples situations so you know your not alone! Good luck everyone!

I don't know what to tell you, I had a C-Section nearly a year ago...I was stapled...but i'm still battling infection myself.

I had a c section probably about 3 months ago and 3 days later I was up doing stuff I was in pain but i did not have any infections. You really should go see your doctor or maybe even another one. I think that the stapling is better.

I had a c-section and the incision got infected in the hospital. They sent me home with the incision entirely open. It had to be packed 3x a day. It has been 9 months since I had the operation and the incision is still open about an inch and draining. Although it's no longer infected, the draining causes a rash on the outter area despite my constant cleaning. I've been referred to a plastic surgeon who says she needs to re-open it, but says there's no guarentee that this will solve my problem.

i had the same , the infection is called celulitis (i was stapled so i it not about that) and unless you take the antibiotics and clean the area very well the healing will be so slow, i was told that it take a lot of time for the antibiotic to get into the skin, my incision closed but i had to use bacitracine and clean my insicion daily(soap) at least 3 times a day.

I had a c section 4 yrs ago and got major infection, had to leave the incesion open to pack 3 times a day, i went home with low grade fever from having the baby and shouldn't have. Two days later went to ER got admitted for 7 days with ma__sive infection it took a few months to complete heal and close just keep it clean and good look..I am having a scheduled C section with this baby I am pregnant with now in July it scares me the same thing might happen again. I know what the problem was, i am overweight and keeping the incesion completly dry was hard to do.

I had a C-section three years ago after 36 hours of labor. I was glad for the section, but I too developed an infection in both inc. (uterus and external). Mine was a little different--a don't have a spleen thanks to a car accident in my teens, which prevents my body from healing as quickly. I must take antibiotics before any type of surgery--including having my teeth cleaned every six months. My inc. was infected when I went home from the hospital, but wasn't oozing until two days later. When I went to the doctor, she took out the staples and it opened completly--what relief!! We had home health come and pack it twice a day and show my husband how to do it (he now thinks of himself as a "medical professional"). I had an opening for about 10-12 weeks until it completly healed. My scar is distugting, but is going to be fixed in about five weeks with my next c-section. This time, I start antis. as soon as being admitted to the hospital and continue them for two weeks after. As well as getting steriod cream for the inc.

My daughter had a c-section, on the 10th day post op this horrible brown pus leaked out of what had been described on the 7th day as a good healing incision. Now she is packing & repacking with no pain med...the docs sayng that this is not unusual. This is appauling to me...no infection like this should be common!!!!!

My sister had a c-section 3 weeks ago and she had a bloodclot under the staples. The doctor had to open her up again to remove the clot. She is now recovering at a very slow rate. She wants to know if she has a lawsuit. Now that I have read the postings .....I don't believe that she does.
