I had a small infection which healed with drugs. but I still have a red rash with red dots of rash where the hair is. How do you keep it dry during the day? Any idea's? Other than washing it. I am trying dyper rash cream.
Thank yu.

I had a c-section 3 MONTHS AGO, two days ago I developed a hole (approx. 1cm) in the center of my scar. My doctor refered me to a surgeon. The surgeon cleaned it with sliver nitrate and told me to watch for stool or urine to come out of the opening. He is concerned that I have a fistula from the inside out. I would feel at ease to know if anyone else has had this happen to me.

I had a C-Section done 8 days ago. Today, I woke up with blood coming out of the incision. I called the On-Call nurse and she told me to put Neosporin on it and gause. It is not infected, but it really freaked me out. With my first C-Section I had no problems. My feet are also swollen and I don't know if this is normal. If made me feel better to read everyone's experience and to know I am not the only one who has had some concerns.

I had my second c-section on June 1 and I had st_tches and the strip tape on my bikini line(transverse cut) i am still a bit sore but I have not tore on the outside however, i did tear on the inside on my right side from doing too much too fast, doctor said I am fine and I also can't believe how fast the weight has come off the second time around either. I gained 36 and have lost 27 of it after 3 weeks but I am b___stfeeding and raising a 4 year old.

I had a C-section on May 27th after a very hard labor. I coudln't have an epidurel because of a back problem and after pushing for 4 hours the they gave me a spinal and took the baby. This is my first and only child, only because i'm 36 years old and developed a spinal headache (a blood patch was unsuccesful because of problems with my back). I had staples and they removed them just before i left the hospital. It didn't really hurt, just a little sting with some of them. My incision is healing remarkably and i'm getting around great. Only problem I have noticed it a lot of redness above and below the incision which my doctor said is yeast. It's getting better with the use of some Monistate cream. But can anyone tell me if the usual healing/off work time is still 6 weeks with a c-section?

Oh my God I did not know all you got or had the same problem as me. I delivered by C-Section on May 18, 2005 b/c of pre-eclampsia and baby was breech at 38 weeks(not enough fluid it was coming out slowly everyday). But I had the C-Section and went home after 3 days in the hospital no signs of leakage. But when I went back 2 days later to get the stapes removed yes the staples hurt and then they saw the liquids oozing out they took the staples and the st_tches out and started packing it everyday. It's 5 weeks and its still open I have home health care nurse coming out once a day and cleaning and packing it with Aquacel w/silver it still stings and hurts like crazy I take a strong pain med whenever the nurse comes so the pain is tolerable. I still have to go to the wound clinic once a week for evals and it has closed some but not not a lot the nurse says I am the deepest she has now but she says it can be like 4 more weeks maybe. But my God I thought I was the only one by far until the nurse came and told me about her other patients and now you all this is a blessing. Me and my mom could not believe the hospitals let you go home after this. Yes, the top of my incision is still numb a little but not the inside so much but my right side of the incision still hurts likr crazy when I lay on my right side amd when they clean it. You all are brave me nor my husband is touching this incison with a ten foot pole yuk, my 6 year old loves to watch as the nurse the treating it. She will have to pack it out everyday when the nurse discharges me :) But this is nutz a open wound.

I had a c/s June 7th after 44 hours of labour that was not progressing (5th pregnancy but 1st live birth & 1st c/s). I was sewn and had the bikini line incision. My Dr. gave me antibiotics at the hospital because she felt I had the beginnings of an infection. The left side of my incision was gaping (about 1/4 inch in about 3 spots) and was red and oozing yellowish stuff. She said the yellow stuff was not puss, but called it something else that I'll never remember; explaining it was the cellular material that heals a wound. I'm also overweight & wondered if that contributed to the problems I was having, as my belly & skin hung over the incision site. Definately hard to keep dry. But when I asked my Dr. yesterday at my 3 wk post-natal checkup, she said it was just the type of skin I had and the way it was healing. I'm still gaping a bit but no longer oozing. I also used topical antibiotic cream and daily dressings & used b__w dryer to dry after each saline cleaning. I did not stuff the openings with gauze though. I still have some redness all along the site and I also have that numb feeling above the site. I, too, have a hard lump above the right side and forgot to ask my Dr. about it yesterday. It does seem a little less pronounced than last week but I wonder now if I have an abscess. I thought maybe it was just the top of the uterus. Anyway, I'm moving about better now & no longer taking Tylenol 3's (which constipated me & made matters worse!). I was told it generally takes 6 weeks to feel completely back to normal. Wish all you guys the best in your healing.

I had my 2nd c-section in Aug.2002 my first one went good but my second one has been different. My scar is still really senst_tive to the touch it has a numb feeling and has a large lump on my left side. Sometimes it hurts so bad that shorts hurts. I have been really scared to go to the dr. Do you think that i have an abcess in there as well?
