It is normal and it should smell bloody and tissue-like. I pa__sed clots for a month after my c-section. You need to call a doctor if the clots are the size of a fist or larger. That is what I was told. Clots are not odorless, as blood has an odor to it. She will smell bad "down there" for a while... Still, if you are worried, it cannot hurt to visit a doctor.

Does she have a fever or more pain? If there is more (not less) bleeding and the color is red not rusty brown she may have some retained placental fragments. This really should be looked at again. Good luck and congrats on the baby!

Her body has to get rid of all the extra "stuff" from her pregnancy. It can be normal but if you're worried, insist on seeing the Dr. Don't take our advice!!!
