Well...how many births did you a__sist with??? Did you do great things today??? Maybe I will like OB, for now my heart is truly with ER...I love the adrenaline rush and the lack of getting to know (and potentially losing) my patients. Emergency medicine has been fun for me, probably will stick with it.

Hey, Kasy. I bet the day just rocked! I have always wondered what dilation actually felt like, is it weird? I mean it seems kinda subjective doesn't it? I never got past 1.5 cm even after 37.5 hours of tetanic labor (they slowed it down w/nembutol eventually, but the whole thing was my fault, very young and arrogant, thought I knew more than all the attendings. Finally they did an x-ray pelvimetry to prove to me that "...the large round thing wasn't going to fit through the smaller round thing..." and that now everybody's BP was accelerating, yadda yadda. In hind sight it was a clever thing to do, what is better than a visual aid for a stubborn teenager? Because I had graduated at 16 I really thought I knew everything...what a little smarty-pants I was and boy did I get my come-uppance in the form of a pretty nasty, painful delivery. I shall look for similar personality types when I do OB and caution them gently LOL. Have a great weekend, I have tons of homework so I will go but will check the site later this pm. Bye for now and have a good day with hubby and kids!

A 55 page paper, I think we will too. I wonder if that is a national requirement. Anyhow, I have a 15 hour day tomorrow...yuk. Oh, I wanted to tell you to pay special attention to any GYN surgeries you may have a chance to see. I think that will show you better than any thing else what you might expect from scarring, c-sects in general, etc. I think bladder issues are a lot more common than people think, I mean they free it from it's filmy attachment, MOVE it out of the way, take the uterus OUT, put stuff back in, let the bladder sit right against a scar-forming organ...and well? I just don't think childbirth is good for some people, huh? Other women breeze right through and have the greatest experiences. I wish I had had the perfect labor, best epidural, smoothest delivery and stuff, just once, ya know? I have friends who have had that and they just glow when they talk about it. Hmmm...maybe I still have some post-cesarean issues. Not really, but I would have liked to have kept my uterus and ovaries a little longer. Anyhow, have a blast in OB and let me know what's going on!

Wow, girl!!! How are momma and baby? Was that not cool? I have seen 3 v____al deliveries and those women are goddesses! I swear they have a look on them like no other, like they have done everything...like lionesses! I am jealous of them, I admit it. I always thought I would have been a great pusher, never even got close to it though. Any how, e-mail me @chaoszz@msn.com it will be easier than scrolling through all this stuff if you want. That is the first time I have ever given someone my e-mail...somehow I trust you. Sorry you aren't pg this month, maybe you need your strength a little bit longer for the NCLEX and stuff. That e-mail is a family accessible account just so you know, but I use that one more than the rest of the family.
