I had my first C-Section about 2yrs ago now I will be having my second child and my Dr. say's that I have to have another one no matter that the reason I had my first is that I got stuck a 9cm.I had a hard time after my first C-Section it was really painful and will the second C-section hurt as much as the first? Thanks

I will be having #3 in eight weeks. I have had no problems with the previous two sections. I am anticipating no problems this time. I do know my second was easier just because I knew what to expect. I also knew better what I should expect of myself and of others.Good luck!

I'm having another one. I don't want to risk complications again and still end up needing one anyway. I thought the first one was painful because of the gas and, of course, the cut. But I'll just be mentally prepared this time.

I don't really understand those doctors who say you have to have a c-section just because you delivered by c-section previously, unless of course, you had a vertical cut. I delivered my second child VBAC two years later and never had any problem. I am, however scheduled to have a c-section next Wednsday (4/12/06), with my 3rd child, because of the same reasons as "Been There", but the good thing about a planned c-section, as opposed to an emergency or unplanned c-section, is that there is no labor, so I'm hoping that it's not going to be as taxing on me as my first was. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I'm just thrilled to finally be getting this baby out of my body. It's been a very long and hard pregnancy for me and I'm just ready for it to be over with. Good luck to all of you and here's to a smoothe and easy delivery!

i don't know why he'd say that, many women have vbac's. I'd get a second opinion because if you don't have to, you'd rather not go through major surgery and the risks that come with it. I have had 3 and am trying for a 4th and if I had have opted to not have a second when there was opportunity to have a vbac I wouldn't be in the boat of needing a 4th. I would seriously look into that. Good luck.

The reason may be insurance. Many malpractice insurances are not covering drs to perform VBACs anymore. If the dr performs one, they are not insured to do so.

i have had 3 c-sections so far. My second one was not as bad. My key was to get up that night and walk around. That really helped with the soreness, i am a nurse too.

I would really do more research before u decide to have major surgery again. Not trying to scare anyone, but i just read about a story of a women who had a c-section a probably 2yrs ago and nearly died because the amniotic fluid got into her blood stream and her heart stopped. C -sec can be risky also. Good luck anyway whatever the decision.
