hi, im 36 weeks pregnant this week and at 32 weeks they said my baby was breech, i didnt worry as it was early days but yesterday they said it still was and sort of more sideways breech to,. I think it has been in this position for most of my pregnancy ,i always thought it was the bum high up in my tummy. now im starting to get worried it wont turn, i was really looking forward to having a natural birth, and trying it without an epidural.. my first baby left me bedridden during labour because of the epi and im terrified of having another, especially for a c-section... it gave me bad back aches ... will she turn by herself?? what are the chances??

Some babies just turn at the last minute. You shouldn't panic. Leave it up to the doctor to handle the situation.

My 3rd child turned at 38 weeks.

My 1st baby was breech. The doctor's did try to turn it externally. It was called a "version". It was pretty painful and it didn't work. Like you I was desperate so I was willing to try anything. I go for my 19 week ultrasound on Monday so I will be very anxious to see what position it is in.

we learned in my childbirth cla__s that if u do a kind of squat itl help them turn. Put one foot on a chair kind of at a 90 degree angle and then just lean into it and then back out..and do it for a while

Acupuncture does work. Some ins. plans will cover it, just gey your Dr. ok before you try it.

I found out at 37 weeks that my baby is Transverse Breech also (that is sideways). My doc said the chances of him turning were slim and we should schedule a c-section. In researching this type of breech...I found that there are reasons for him to be sideways...it could be that my anatomy is weird (as my doc said) because there could be some sort of "wall" in my uterus that he is more comfy sideways. Another reasn could be placenta previa. This being my first pregnancy I was devastated at the thought of having a c-section. My husband and I feel that as long as he gets here safe...we don't care how he gets here. This is God's Will and we are not messing with it. I had people telling me what to do to turn him...my fear was him getting twisted up in his umbilical cord or something. I am glad you got answers because I came on here with the same questions and got no response. Which was actually good because it gave me time for acceptance of the situation. My c-section is scheduled this Thursday at 8AM. I will be having a spinal block...ask about that. We are so excited. Good Luck!

I had my son by c-section in Dec. because he was breech. I was told when I was 30 weeks he had turned and was head down, so it was a surpise when I went at 41 weeks for an u/s and he was breech. They wouldn't even try to turn him b/c he was so big. Plus I wouldn't have let them even if they could have tried.

My baby was breech..I heard t an ironing board upside hat lying on an ironing board leaned against a couch for awhile would help, just make sure you have someone to help you do it.. ..whether this works or not I don't know but my baby turned though they do anyway most times..you could try it if you want or you could just wait and see..I hope all goes well..

I am 38 weeks and I had 2 normal pregnancy so far, both of them turned head down, a month prior. This time I have a transverse baby and I had a version done on Friday. I was not painfull at all. I didn't even feel the baby turn until she was done, then it felt different inside, as the baby had been in the position since my ultra sound at 21wks. So I think it was quite comfy where it was. But about 30mins after they turned baby, it turned back sideways. I am still hoping for it to turn on it's own and stay there, as it keeps moving down and back everyday now, but it's just not staying down. The doc. is want to schedual a C-Section, but I refused, I want to wait to gointo labour to see if it has turned down, or if the labour will turn it to a down position. Worse case is that i will have to have a C-Section after going into labour if natural isn't going to work. I am soo terrified of a C-Section, I requested that I am to be put out for it. I will miss my baby's birth, but my husband will be there for it.

Amanda, I saw on a Birth Story or one of those shows, that you could try putting a bag of frozen vegetables on your belly near and a little above the baby's head. The baby won't like the cold, so he/she'll move away from it. If it's above the head, he/she will go the opposite way and move on down. Of course, then you'll have to figure out how to keep him/her there. But it would be a start.

hi all, well my baby did turn, she turned at 38 weeks ,i read about diving in water, and went and did that,, you go to a warm pool at about shoulder deep, or a bit less,, and dive jto the bottom of the pool, then back up, i did this up and down the pool and also a few somersaults now and then, do it for at least 20 mins a day, my baby turned affter 2 days f diving, as well i tryed to fully relax, warm baths, and a few big cusions under my bum and a light ma__sageon my belly guiding her down.
