Does anyone know if they shave you in the hospital for a c-section?

When I had my c-section they shaved me just a little bit. I guess it would depend on how far down your incision is.

I had an emergency c-section and the nurse shaved a little bit off the top. I was so out of it from labor and a fever that I kept cracking out these stupid comments, like telling my husband that it was just like our honeymoon (which I had shaved for). He was so embarra__sed and the nurse did not find it funny at all..... oh well!

I had an emergency C-section a week ago. They shaved some off the top and made the incision under the hairline. When the hair grows back it will cover any scar.

Yes, they shave you. And it's really uncomfortable when that little stubble starts coming back into your incision. If you know you will have a c-section, schedule a bikini wax before the big event. You will be glad you did. Obviously if it is an emergency c-section, then there's not much you can do. I had an unplanned c for my first baby, and then a planned c for my 2nd baby. Unfortunately my water broke 6 days before my scheduled c-section, and I was calling Mario Tricoci's to cancel my bikini wax from my hospital bed. Ha, ha.

SHAVE BEFORE YOU GO IN!!! Even if you don't expect a c. I had an emergency c and they did not shave me. For bandaging they used this super strong thick sticky tape stuff and I got a complementary WAXING when the doc came in and RIPPED off the bandage....OWWWWWWEEEE! Next time I'm just shaving the whole darn thing!

My doctor doesn't shave but I did at home anyway before I went in and I'm glad I did..the tape they put over the staples afterwords would have hurt even worse coming off the next day if I didn't..lol EM
