can you wear tampons after a c-section

You are not supposed to because of the risk of infection right after birth. However, I got tired of wearing pads after about 3 weeks and started using them as the blood started to taper off.

they tell you not to wear tampons until the initial bleeding stops. this may take 4 to 6 weeks (longer or shorter for some women) but your cervix is open so you are at VERY high risk of infection.. not of the v____a, the uterus. This is very dangerous. Once it has stopped completely, and you get your first period, you can use tampons again. I stopped at 5 weeks, and got my period 4 days later, and my doc said to go ahead and use tampons. I hope this helps, but please ask your doctor.
