We are waiting to test. This will be our third baby, both prior deliveries were c-sec.I wasnt awake during my first because it was an emergency. My second though,it was elective and I was awake and it was horifying it also took so much more time to heal.I regret having my second one.I read you can have a v-bac after no more than two c-secs,but I also worry about damaging my childs brain because of a rupture buring a v-bac.Is it selfish to consider one ? And how dangerouse is it. If any one knows please share.

Talk to your doc, as he/she will have a position on this. There are many factors that make you either a good or bad candidate for VBAC, so your doc will be able to advise you. I had an unplanned 1st c-section, but a planned 2nd c-section. After doing my research and talking with my doc, that is what I decided to do for my 2nd baby. My 2nd c-section sucked, as I had some complications. However, my baby is perfect and healthy. If you decide to VBAC, make sure you do it somewhere where they are equipped for immediate surgical intervention. If you have a uterine rupture, as rare as it is, it only takes minutes for the baby to suffer permanent damage (or death). However, people have successful VBACs everyday, so there are 2 sides to every coin. You are the one that has to be comfortable with your decision, no matter what anyone on this board tells you.

why did you have to have c-sections? I have had 3 c-sections. I found out after 3 1/2 hours of pushing that my first baby was turned wrong and I had a narrow pelvis. My next baby was almost 10 lbs, so there was no sense even trying a vbac. with my third I was preclamptic and he had to be born 3 weeks early. Good thing because he was almost 9 lbs! I want more kids and know they will be c-sections. I had wonderful experiences with c-sections. It's not fun or painless, but there are things you can do to prepare. I walked everyday at least a mile so that my stomach muscles were in good shape. But most of all I spoke with my anestesiologist (?) and he told me of a new spinal they can do. It's called Deramorph. It's a spinal with morphine in it. I love this stuff. I did not feel any pain for 8 days after surgery. I was laying on the table after surgery and I told my dr. I felt like I could get up and run a race. I would research more things you can do to prepare for surgery. Vbac is very risky. My little brother was a vbac and he is slightly retarded because my mom's uterus ruptured and they couldn't get him out in time and his o2 was cut off for a few minutes. I lean more toward c-sections. A little pain is worth a healthy baby. Plus it would really suck to labor and try a vbac and end up having a c-section. You get the worst of both! But, research everything you can and make a decision you feel comfortable with. Ask lots of questions too, new stuff is always popping up. Good Luck!

My firt after 24hrs labor 18hrs of it at home and 8 1/2 cm desided she wanted to turn wrong too. I was put to sleep with out knowing. She was born at 3:34am I didnt get to see her till 6:00am.Not hearing her firt cry though, was the hardest. I didn't want the same thing to happen again so I had my second the same but I was awake. It was so painful and I bleed alot.Seeing the staples I didnt get the first time made me colapse in the bathroom. It also seemed to take alot longer to heal.I seem to be to worried to try a vbac.I just want to have options but , its not worth the risk.Guess ill just prepair better,be graitful and bear my teeth.

My personal opinion is that no risk is worth it, and I would never personally consider a vbac...but, if you do, the suggestion to do it where medical intervention is immediately available is a wise one. Not many docs will do VBACs, let alone after more than one c-section...some insurance companies won't "allow" them since a full OR team is required to be on call anyway, but int he end it's really up to you...

for me after 2 csectiosn i would not risk a vbac no matter how much I wanted a natural delivery the risks are increased to much. but saying that I know a lady that had 3 csection and than a VBAC for her 4th. I guess if you do decided to try VBAC make sure your dr has a good emergency plan just in case :)
