How long did it take most of you to feel normal? Be able to lift things and not feel so sore???? I am so frustrated!!!!

I had a c-section exactly 5 weeks ago and I feel pretty normal. Still get slightly sore if I overdo it, but other than that, I feel great...

I had a c section in Jan and I still get pains at the incision site. The doctor told me it is normal for some people not to get back to "norm" for up to a year after. Although a few people I know will tell you they never went back to normal and still get pain in some areas. It just depends on the person I guess.

Due to cephalic disproportion, I had a c-section a little over 3 weeks ago after 8 hours of labor and sometimes I feel a little blue that I couldn't have the natural birth I so dreamed of having, but those are the breaks. Baby's here and healthy and I'm happy for it. I think it's all about att_tude. My att_tude about the c-section isn't very positive since I didn't want one, and maybe that is impeding my healing and taking me longer to feel "normal" again. If it's elective, I suspect you'd feel better sooner just because it was your choice. I must say I'm doing almost everything I used to do, except s_x and exercise which I'll wait for the 6 week check-up and because I'm still bleeding a bit. But rest a__sured you will feel better! Just take it easy.

It was about week 5 or 6 for me. I had an emergency section after 3 days slow labour and 16 hours active labour and babe had pooed. Its the most awful thing feeling like you havent given birth naturally and sooo frustrating not being able to do normal things around the house, but it does get better hun:) My babe is 5.5 months now and im just about back to normal, however im finding it really hard losing my weight, i put on 4 and a half stone and cant shift anything:( Us poor mums lol xx

I had a c-section 5 years ago and would say it took about 1 year to get fully back to normal. I had to build the muscles backup and it did hurt a bit at first but after a year I could do anything I could do before without repercutions the next day. including jumping my horse.
I plan for my next c-section in 10 weeks.
I would also like to point out the comment someone made about natural birth. I got swamped into the VBAC and doula idea a few weeks ago but was so worried about different stuff that could happen and arranging child care and my business I decided its not for me. I think birth should be a happy experience and the most important thing is the child is healthy and your not stressed.. Horses for courses so to speak I dont feel like a failure because I'm not going to risk being torn/stressed/incontinent ruptured.
Good Luck Everyone.
