NIGHT SWEATS. Lastnight I woke up in a terrible sweat. This is my 2nd pregnancy I am 11 wks 1 day. My last pregnancy I had a m/c at 8 wks and night sweats were very regular during that pregnancy. I'm scared to death that I just had a horrible night sweat lastnight, could this be a sign that I'm going to have another m/c? I know that overheating your body can cause a m/c...sweating like this makes me scared that I am overheating. THANKS!

It is great to hear this is a normal thing. I'm still not sure if I am pregnant and was doing research on early signs in which this in not listed on any sites I have found except for this one, just thinking I may be sick with something that made me 4wks late. I have woken up the last couple nights drenched in sweat and freezing. I have a pile of blankets on me and i don't get warm I just sweat.

What a relief this is -- am glad this is so common, but also sorry for all of you who suffer also. I'm now 37 weeks pregnant and since about week 25 have had terrible night sweats nearly every night (hence it's 4am and I'm wide awake!). First they started in my groin area and now I seem to sweat all over to the point where if I stand it drips down my leg! Good practice for when my waters break?!? Anyway, I'm hoping this will go once I've had my baby -- has the problem been resolved for anyone??

There's thing called a Bedfan at www.tealco.net that b__ws air under your sheets while you sleep. It makes a BIG difference! I recommend it!

I am in my 25th week of my second pregnancy. My first pregancy I had no complications of any kind. But with this pregnancy I wake up one or two times a night in a puddle of sweat. I asked my doctor about it and he said that it is normal because our bodies are producing more heat during a pregnancy. He said not to be worried too much unless it causes major sleeping problems, and to just stay cool by wearing 100% cotton to bed if anything at all.
