Diet Before Pregnancy

Hi, I'm soon going to be TTC. I have been on WW (fairly successfully) for several months. The problem is that my body has become accustomed to eating only about1200 calories per day. When I eat 1600 or more calories per day, I gain weight very quickly. I knwo that when I'm pregnant i will need to eat about 300-500 extra calories per day, but I'm wondering if 1200+500 will be enough, or if I need to somehow get my body back up to 1800-2000 a day before getting pregnant. I feel that if I go from 1200 a day to 2300 a day, I will gain weight much too quickly. Any ideas? Thanks!

FIrst of all 1200 cal is very low intake..unless that was suggested by a doc. Second In the first trimester no additional cal are necessary...then second tri u need only 340 extra per day, 3rd tri u need up to 500 extra per day. So ur body naturally warms up to eating more cal...However when trying to conceive u need optimal nutrition which might require u to eat more than 1200 cal per day
