Drinking In Early Pregnancy

I am scared that I have damaged my baby. I drank 5-6 drinks 2 times around the 4th/5th week of pregnancy. There is so much information about FAS? I am now in the 6th week and have stopped completely now that I know I am pregnant. Can anyone help me cope with the fear?

You should not worry about drinking when you didn't know you were pregnant. Your body some how, has a way of protectingthe baby during that time. They say excessive drinking is harmful, but if you stay away from it completely it's much helathier for the baby. So don't worry about what's been already done...look forward to the future, eat healthy, excerise and just take great care of your self from here on.

Don't worry- you should be okay. I had the same scare as you: I hadn't had anything to drink since hubby and I started trying, but close to when I was expecting my period, I begin to get those familiar cramps and thought "Oh, well! Not this time!" And relaxed and had a couple gla__ses of sangria. I felt oddly ill, even though it was weak sangria and I had only had two small cups...A week later I found out I was pregnant...I asked the doctor the same question bc I was freaking out, and she told me to relax. You have to drink pretty consistently to cause damage. Now that you know, don't drink! :-)
