I need to increase almost 2000 calories during pregnancy to avoid vomiting. Among that 2000 calories, most of it has to be protein. I found that I am not gaining weight on myself as my face, arms and legs remains about the same but I have gained more than 10 lbs so far and I am 16 weeks pregnant. Note that there is only one baby inside. Has anyone experienced such crazy diet need?

I think increasing you calorie intake by that much is definatly going to catch up with you. I would try to find another way to keep tabs on the sickness. Besides almost everyone is sick during pregnancy. It's just something we have to deal with. The weight gain doesn't sound like all that much--10lbs in 16wks isn't so bad, but I think later on it will catch up with you and you'll have way more gain than you'd like. If you keep going at this rate, you'll end up being sorry after you have your baby and are stuck with all the extra weight. Good Luck.

When the baby has a growth spurt I get a day or two of insane hungry. If you were not eating enough before the pregnancy some of your nutrient reserves (stored in your fat supplies) could have been down. If I try to limit my intake, I get violently ill (nausea, headaches, dizziness).
Considering the fact that the actual percentage of nutrients in the food supply went down 50% between 1900 and 1950 (right around the time the US government first started irradiating wheat fields--this is a form of protogenetic modification of the food supply you know, GMOS) and has since plummeted, and that most vitamns are not fully absorpable by the body in the form many of the large pharmaceutical corporations manufacture them, I would worry more about balancing your food intake, getting all the nutrients your baby needs, and having a bright child. You can always lose weight (especially if you b___stfeed after the birth). The one thing I never do is eat candy, or drink pop. I also avoid msg, tartarazine and other preservatives like the plague. When I eat, it is home made and well balanced,
