Prenatal Supplements

Hey everyone, I have been feeling super nauseous (8th week) and was wondering if the prenatal supplements may be part of the reason. I forgot to take them yesterday, and felt fine all day. So I took them about an hour before bed with a snack and woke up sooooo sick at 1am. Am I just being paranoid or what?!?

I had the same problem, make sure you take them with a meal, not a snack. I take my at supper time every night and since then I have not had a problem. My doctor says it has something to do with the iron in them. Try taking them with a meal and it shouldnt happen anymore. Good luck

The high dose of iron in the prenatal supplement may be causing nausea. The reason they have to put so much iron in the supplement is because some of the iron is neutralized by the calcium. A solution may be using a prenatal supplement that is 2 times a day. Because it divides the iron and the calcium, it doesn't have so much iron that it makes you nauseous. I use PregVit - it's expensive but I haven't had the same pnauseous problems I had when I was using a "one a day" prenatal supplement.

the supplements definitly can make you sick, Im taking premesis your doctor can perscribe it to you (just let them know your getting sick). Its for woman who get sick easy. I ran out of it one day so I took vitamans I bought over the counter, and I threw them up an hour later. So hopfully you will find a kind that will work for you. Good luck
