I am 20 weeks. Prepregnancy 124, and didn't put on any weight until the last 4-5 weeks, which I now weight 135 at 5' 2". I would not worry about anything. Everyone is different, and just listen to your body. Good luck to everyone!!

I feel the same way!! I am 16 weeks, and have gained 14lbs so far. I work at a fitness center and workout every morning. My advice to you as to myself, lets just enjoy the gift that we have and not take all the fun away by worrying about our weight. It will all come off in the end.

You've gained that much weight already? All of you have? I don't get it than, I'm 16 weeks pregnant and I haven't gained one pound! I went to the doctor about a week ago and they didn't say anything. I wonder why

I'm really getting the impression that there's a HUGE range of normal and healthy weight gain--much broader than the ever-popular "25-35 pounds". Loads of women put on a lot of weight, and not necessarily because they're overeating. And plenty seem to report that they aren't putting it on, despite eating enough. I'm at 18 weeks and I've gained only 2 pounds so far...and I'm definitely getting the recommended 2300 calories or so per day. (I'm 5'3", starting weight 130 pounds.) I have a pet theory that since I started the pregnancy about 5 pounds over my normal weight, my body knew it already had some "extra" and is taking it slow (for now, anyway). But who knows? It seems to me that each body has its own wisdom, and that no one should panic if their weight is more or less than average. Just as long as you're getting enough calories and nutrients.

I'm two days away from 16 weeks and I have put on a total of 7 lbs. I was 120 and 5'6", now I'm 127. I feel OK about it, I eat well and drinks lots of fluid so I'm not worried.

Don't freak out!! This is the only time in a woman's life that you can eat whatever you want, get fat, and people still tell you that you look beautiful!! I say enjoy it...I'm 33 weeks....started at 140 and have gained 40lbs.....but i'll lose it...I know these stretch marks were given to me by my beautiful son.

Jami I wouldn't worry. A lot of women don't start gaining weight in early pregnancy. If it does become a matter of concern your OB will probly perscribe you high calorie shakes. It is important though once you do start to gain weight to gain it gradually. If you gain too much and over indulge your labor can be dramatically harder, and unless you have a nanny when Junior arrives its really hard to try and find the time and energy to work out. I'm 17 weeks pregnant and have lost 7 1/2 pounds due to really intense morning sickness. (My OB gave me shakes) With my first pregnancy with my son who is now 9 months old, I had gained about 5 pounds by 17 weeks. Each pregnancy is different, so I wouldn't be worried! GOOD LUCK!

YES!!! I gained 90 pounds with my 2 previouse pregnancies, totally healthy babies although I got real uncomfortable. I am now on the 32nd week of my 3rd pregnancy and I have gained 65 pounds, but I started this pregnancy about 10 pounds heavier. I am normally 5'6 and weigh 135-140, but give birth at about 230 pounds. I try not to let it devistate me, but just know I have a weight gain problem also during pregnancy.

Just started 16 weeks and I have gained 8-10 lbs. Nothing has changed since about 12 weeks, though. I seemed to have gained from 6-12 weeks.

I am 16 weeks pregnant and have gained 18 lbs so I now that is too much. I put on a lot in the first trimester when the only way to stop me feeling sick was to eat. I also was excerising like crazy before and after one miscarriage was scared to continue too much and I have stopped smoking - I just dont want to get too big! But I suppose only time will tell
