Hello I am 12 weeks pregnant (first time) and for the last couple of days I have experienced lower back pain on and off. I am nervous about everything! Has anyone else had this? I had an u/s at 101/2 weeks and the dr said the baby and heartbeat looked perfect. I am really nervous-any advice as to what this may be would be great

I am 15 weeks pregnant and I have been having really bad back pain (on and off) since 6 weeks. My doctor told me unfortunately it was just going to get worse. It's your ligaments pulling in the back from the pressure of the growing uterus. You'll be fine. Just try to get rest when possible and take a Tylenol if it's too bad. Speak with your doctor about it at your next visit because they might have other options for you.

Hi, I am 15 weeks pregnant and my lower back pain comes and goes. It syarted bothering me at around 12 weeks It comes at random times. Sometimes I will just go to stand up and it really hurts. Aside from that I have felt great so far. I'm just hoping that it doesn't get worse throughout my pregnancy. Has anyone experienced this as well and did it get better? Thanks for listening

I too had very bad back pain at about 8 to 14 weeks. I am now 22 weeks, the pain is gone! Thank goodness, because it was so bad I could barely walk.

I had that too, off and on. Felt like a dull pain. Went away tough after a couple days. it's ok to worry - that's what mothers do from day one! all starts in the womb!

I went to my family doc and had my back adjusted. Worked like magic! This pregnancy has been much more comfortable than the last. My OB cleared it, I just had to tell the doc that I was pregnant.

I'm only 6 1/2 weeks and I'm already having back lower back pain. I had a sonogram today and everything is fine. Your body is working over time and your muscles and ligaments are being stretched and that causes the pain. Try not to worry because it's normal!!

Hello there and I am sorry you are all suffering from lower back pain too! I am 6 weeks pregnant and for about 10 days I was getting a lot of lower back pain while sitting at work all day. The pain would be gone in the morning but then start again when I went to work. Two days ago my back was really painful and then all of the sudden the pain has not been there for the past two days! Call me silly but it has me worried. Why would it hurt so much and then suddenly go away? Has anyone else experienced this?

I have been getting little pains in by back when I sit or stand too long. I was worried, but I feel a bit better after reading these posts! I'll bring it up in my next doc appt, but it's good to know I'm not alone :)

Don't worry! I am 12 weeks and for the past few weeks I have been having very painful lower back pain. When it happened I used to rest..b/c I was scared of m/c. Then I read it is b/c of the ligaments and that walking may help. Now, whenever it starts I go for a bit of a stroll and believe it or not...the pain slowly subsides. Pregnancy is scary...but don't worry...back pain is just one of those pregnancy "perks."
