Hi everyone. last night I woke up to taste something like blood in my mouth, spit out blood on the basin..seems they were from my gums.Does anyone else have the same sypmtoms? And what can i do about it? I brushed my teeth right away and then it stopped.

I have heard from various baby sites etc., that some crazy hormone in pregnancy can cause bleeding gums. I never have a problem until I brush my teeth and then I have to completely rinse the toothbrush every time I take it out of my mouth b/c it's covered in blood. I don't know if there is anything you can do about it- you have got to love those pregnancy hormoes!!! Good Luck!

It is normal during pregnancy to have bleeding gums when you brush your teeth. But be sure to go to the dentist as during your nine months as complications can be harmful to your baby.

Angelaw....Beth is right, my doc said to get cleaning done from a dentist, otherwise it might get worse and even lead to premature birth sometimes.
