Hi all, i am a few days away from being 9 weeks pregnant. A few nights ago i had terrible pains in my lower left side where the baby is sitting. The pain was so terrible it woke me up during the night. While it was not a constant pain it kept peaking for about half an hour. The next day after i finally got to sleep it was fine. Now today i am feeling a little niggling in the same spot but not the same pain as the other night. I'm just worried as i'm scared it could be a miscarriage. Has anyone else experienced this pain? Should i go to the doctor or is it just another symptom of pregnancy?

I have been having the same problem. I heard that it is normal though, so there should be nothing to worry about. BUT.. I have also heard that if they are REALLY bad to go see a doctor and make sure that the baby isn't trying to grow in your fillopian (sp?) tubes.

Also early miscarriages are caused by abnormal chromsomes in the fetus...it can also be caused by trauma that happens usually later in the pregnance....like a car accident.. To give you piece of mind I suggest you research miscarriage on the web. I am 37.5 weeks pregnant and have experienced ALOT of cramping through out my whole pregnancy. Sometimes to the point that I am unable to walk or move. My doctor said it was normal.....to an extent. The pains should never be constant and should go away after a few minutes. She said if I had more that 4-5 in an hour time that lasted more than a minute to 5 minutes to go to the ER. Hope this helps
