i have had migraines all my life, and the only thing that helps is to take a warm bath and hold a hot washcloth on my forehead. also keep the room as dark as you can, i usually just light a couple of candles for light during my bath. this relaxes me enough so that i can go to bed after my bath and sleep off the migraine.

I had them too and they were so bad! Hang on, b/c they are getting better. I was sent to a neurologist (he gave me codeine) and he told me that they usually taper off by the 3rd trimester. So, my 1st was horrible, throwing up w/them all the time, 2nd resulted in just pounding headaches (not quite migraines, but almost)... We'll see how the third goes. Try a few different things.... As soon a I feel one coming on I drink one of those mini cans of coke with 2 tylenol (my ob/gyn recommended that trick). Also, if you get one try a real ice pack that you keep in the freezer (or a hot pack, like sara suggested). With that on my head I was at least able to fall asleep. Other than that, try not to skip meals or go too long btw, make sure you drink enough, sometimes I think taking a little walk hels prevent them, but it is such a mystery, really. Good luck, and keep telling your Dr if you keep getting them! Don't suffer!

PMolson, I was getting headaches every other day! And I'm not usually a headache person. I talked with my doctor and she gave me a prescription that I take at the first sign of a headache. So far it's helped wonders. I also use Lavender to help me relax. I spray a little bit of it on my pillow (like a linen spray), before I go to bed at night, and it helps me to relax. If they are really bothering you, please talk with your doctor. Good Luck and let us know how everything goes.

I've had the same for yrs and I hate taking any kind of medication. Besides a dark quiet place to lay down, the obly other thing that helps me is flushing my head under cold water. It shocks the head and believe it or not the migrain is gone. Another great remedy is s_x.

I have the same trouble and use sudafed headache pills. They help but the tylenol doesn't.

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one going through this! I though they were just caused by neck and shoulder tension, and I've tried everything I can think of to improve my posture when I'm working. Sometimes they get so bad I'm sick to my stomach! Luckily, they're not as frequent now as they were a month ago... I'm hoping they'll go away, but I don't want to take any meds when I have them! I'm so relieved I'm not the only one... :o)

I use sudafed when I get mine. Also I find that acupressure helps ALOT! My migraines go away within 5 minutes when I get that. Try doing some research on pressure points and have your husband do it on you. I used to have someone who knew what they were doing give me acupressure, and now i just tell him where to put the pressure since I can remember where the points are now. Feels weird like heat is coming out my ear but it works like a charm!
