Sometimes when i itch in a certain place i'll get like somethin like a rash well thats what it looks like but it looks like little red dots like broken blood vessels and then if i continue scratchin there i'll break the skin and have a cut. I dont know why im itchin so much but its very discomfortin can some one help me. EDD- 12/18/2005

I did the same thing. The best you can do is go and buy some cortizone cream. It is also safe to take benedryl (as my Dr said always as your dr first) I did that too. Also exfoliate in the shower if ya can and then put a good moisturizer, it will help some with the itching.

there is a condition that causes severe itching during pregnancy. please contact your physisian. Some cases have gotten very severe!

Severe itching can be a sign of liver problems. You definately need to let your doc know right away so you can have your liver enzymes tested. Good luck!

I was watching a show on discovery health and there is like some disease you can get when your pregnant that involves your liver and one of the symptoms is unconrolable itching and also jaundice(turning a lil yellow)

Everyone who is pregnant is itchy. Believe me, if you had ICP you'd know. Itching would start on the soles of feet and palms of the hands. The chances of you having ICP are 5 times the chances of you having a downs syndrome baby. (rare) Taking cortizones has lots of ill effects on pregnacy and immune system disfunction later on. I would suggest marrying your boyfriend and then having him ma__sage you nightly.

The itching has a lot to do with the extra blood close to our outer layer of skin during pregnancy. It really sucks but it will go away after baby. I hate being dressed sometimes and I use an aveeno oil in the bath. Although it is not dry skin, it kind of helps.
