Late Period Negative Test

My period was 6 days late, I got really really bad pains as if my period was starting, but that day it didn't start and the pain went away as if nothing had happened next day my period started for one day then stopped for half a day then started its a light period, I also have a head ache off and on for a few days, Done a blood test came up negative, doctor said maybe a cycst bursting, my period had been to the day all year, Im just not sure?
