I have major morning sickness. I'm six weeks pregnant and it started just a couple of days ago. I am also very sick with a cold so I take cough drops and throat drops, but lately I can't even keep those down in the morning. I have tried eating before I get out of bed. But I am a college student and have an 8am lecture so I don' have alot of time to lie in bed. I tried potato chips but I couldn't keep those down either. Tomorrow morning I am going to try crackers. We will see how that goes. Any other suggestions?

Hi Joanna, I can completely relate to what you are going through. My morning sickness has decreased slightly, but it is still there. What I did was plain toast and for me that helped. Drink lots of water too. I tried Perier sparkling water when I could drink and I found it helped me. Sorry that you feel so c___ppy. I hope for both of us it gets better. I lost my job because I was so ill and now trying to find one is a nightmare with the way I am feeling. Good luck wiht your studies. What are you studying? Cheers

Girls, I am right there with you! This sickness (I won't call it morning b/c it happens ALL the time) is overwhelming. No one ever related to me just how bad it is. Stephanie I understand your job situation--I just moved to a new area and it's been hell trying to find work when you can't even sit through an interview without going to the toilet to vomit. I was an archaeologist and I can't really go out in the field 8 hrs per day on my feet digging any longer. (and with a degree like that it's hard to get anyone to hire you for an office job!) Hang in there guys--I hope we see the light at the end of the puking tunnel soon!

I am 8 weeks and have felt lousy for 3 weeks now. I was told to nibble a small amount of slivered almonds and they certainly helped with severe nausea in the mornings.

Oh and Joanna, on the cold thing--I had bronchitis in my 6th and 7th weeks and my doctor prescribed the antibiotic Zithromax and it helped tremendously. I still have some nasal drainage going on, but much better. Ask your doctor about it..
