PLEASE Tell Me What You HSG Was Like

i have to go in for an HSG. i am very scared and nervous since i heard it is very painful. can someone that has had it done tell me what was it like, is it painful, how long does it last and on what day of the cycle is it performed !.thanks

I felt absolutely nothing during the procedure. The readiologist inserts a catheter into your cervix and opens it up a bit. Then they send some dye ito your uterus and if it spills out of your fallopian tubes then youdon't have any bockages. You should take some pain medication prior to the procedure and carry a sanitary napkin for afterward. I spotted just after that and then was okay.
