I'm 39 weeks pregnant and I'm still not sure if I've felt a Braxton Hicks contraction. A few times a day I get a sharp pain in the cervix and it usually hurts enough for me to stop and bend over. It usually happens for just a few seconds and it takes me a bit to recover and often happens again right after. I thought these were Braxton Hicks. The odd part is that my stomach doesn't feel like it tightens at all during this and it mostly happens while I'm laying down and the baby is moving. Are these braxton hicks or is it the baby head bunting me in the cervix or is it something else I should worry about?
If anyone has any idea please let me know, I'm really concerned.

I am 35 weeks have the same thing and it is a very common complaint in pregnant women and yes it can very well be the baby jabbing you in the cervix. My doctor said it could also be a softening of blood vessels down there as well... I doubt that it is braxton hicks because you would feel your uterus tightening. I have been having braxton hicks since 20 weeks and put on bedrest for an irritable uterus. I get them like crazy now!! Good luck to you !!
