Hi, I'm 7 weeks along with my first baby and I have been having cramps since the 4th and 5th week. In the last few days, the pain has become more and more pronounced on the right side of my abdomen just below the belly button. The pain is sharp and quick. Usually subsides after a while but the area is still tender- it hurts when you put pressure on it. I haven't had any spotting at all. I'm wondering whether it's appendicitis or ectopic pregnancy. Please help

Lozz - I think you should go to your doctor and get a ultrasound done to check for ectopic be on the safe side. Ectopic pregnancy is rare (1%) but should always be checked for if you have any signs of it and one sided pain is a sign of it. However you do often get pain in early pregnancy so it may well be nothing at all but you should get it checked out.

Thanks Justine. The pain is subsiding today, mainly because I drank 2 litres of water yesterday. Anyway, I've made an appointment to see my obstetrician.
This is a great forum to consult. Lots of experienced moms in here.
